MARDI GRAS CELEBRATION!

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14

Masks, beads, music!

Please join us as we celebrate Transfiguration Sunday in true Mardi Gras fashion.  Worship will be highlighted with fun, toe-tapping Dixieland music.

Following 10:30 worship we will gather for family fellowship and a Mardi Gras Feast in Sanctuary Hall.  Please sign up at the Welcome Center for lunch and take a side dish recipe with you to make and share at the Mardi Gras lunch.

St. Mark's continues to host PADS the 2nd Saturday of each odd-numbered month.  Each time we host, we prepare dinner with Rejoice Lutheran Church of Geneva, our PADS partner, for up to 200 men, women, and children.   St. Mark's supplies the nonperishable items.

For each meal, we use the following:

  • 5 Boxes - Minute Rice (72 oz. box)
  • 6 Cans - Fruit Cocktail (6-7 lb. can)
  • 6 Cans - Green Beans (6-7 lb. can)

We would like to collect enough of these nonperishable items to take us through the entire year.   Link to our OUTREACH page for more information on how you can help.



FEBRUARY 28:  4:30 - 6:00 p.m.

This is your opportunity to showcase your award-winning (or hope to be award-winning) chili recipes.  A panel of judges will decide on the "best" entry and cash prizes will be awarded

"Letting the Children Come Unto Him"

The St. Mark's congregation is blessed to have two wonderful programs for children.  One is the preschool that is housed on the church grounds, which offers classes for children ages three and four with morning and afternoon sessions.

The second program is St. Mark's Child Development Center located at 1995 W. Downer Place--just a couple of blocks from church.  This not-for-profit corporation has openings in the following high quality programs:

  • Full/Part-time Preschool and Child Care
  • Full Day Kindergarten
  • School Age Child Care
  • Summer Camp
