Music at St. Mark's

The Music Ministry here at St. Mark's plays a vital role in our worship life together. We draw on our musicians from all ages and from many different kinds of music making to enhance our worship. We also have as a core, a commitment to music education.

We believe that music is a skill that can and should be learned especially as a worshipping community. We have purchased new instruments and wonderful teaching tools to help us proclaim the good news. We hope you will consider making a "Joyful Noise" with us. PASSION SUNDAY CONCERT

Sunday, March 28 -- 3:30 p.m.

The music ministry will be presenting "Requiem" by John Rutter with orchestral accompaniment.

This beautiful setting of the Requiem Mass shines with the wonderful composing skills of John Rutter.

A reception will follow the concert.

YOUTH MUSICAL GROUPS...

Vocal Groups/Choirs

Praise Team: Adults and Teens - Sundays after 10:30 a.m. worship. This team will be involved in creating and sharing in the 10:30 worship environment. Music will be energetic, current, and fun.

Children's Choir: K-5th Grade - Sundays, 10:00-10:30 a.m. We hope to have children stay after 9:00 a.m. worship or come early for 10:30 a.m. worship and sing on Sunday mornings. We will have them moving and singing to all types of fun songs!

Joyous Praise Choir: Junior High - Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m. This group is the place where junior high youth unite their voices to sing about their faith. Anthems are rehearsed weekly and shared every 6 weeks in worship.

Handbell Choirs

FDL Bells: Grades 3-5 - Wednesdays, 5:00-5:30 p.m. This is a training choir for bell ringers. They will share 3 or 4 times in worship and at holidays.

Cloches Bell Choir: Grades 3-8 - Thursdays, 4:30-5:15 p.m. This group is for the experienced ringer. Participants will be working on more advanced bell techniques and sharing anthems every 6 weeks in worship.

Joyous Praise Bells: Junior High - Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. This group is the place for junior high youth to ring about their faith. Participants draw on musical skills learned here and at school to share bell anthems in worship and holiday services.
