Proverbs 3:1-8 My child, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments; 2for length of days and years of life and abundant welfare they will give you.
3Do not let loyalty and faithfulness forsake you; bind them round your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. 4So you will find favour and good repute in the sight of God and of people.
5Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. 6In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. 7Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. 8It will be a healing for your flesh and a refreshment for your body

The Flying Lions Youth Group at St. Mark's is a very active program for high school teens. Read about their current activities and programs.
LUTHERAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND In July of 2000 a St. Mark's family began funding an account to be used for St. Mark's teens attending Lutheran colleges. If you would like to help make this an ongoing tradition, please use one of the specially marked envelopes available at the Welcome Center. Thank you! Martin Luther once asked, "What do we older folks live for if not for the care of the young, to teach and train them?" The importance he placed on education has remained a hallmark of the Lutheran church for centuries, and is truly part of our calling. Today, the ELCA carries out its education initiative through over 2,000 early education centers, primary and high schools and 28 colleges and universities across the country.

PAPER DRIVE . . . Grab a brown paper grocery bag, fill it with your paper recycling, and return it to the recycling bins in our parking lot to help the Youth Group fund their events! We collect all kinds of paper, including magazines and catalogs. Recycling keeps your home free of clutter, helps us raise funds and keeps paper out of the landfills. Thank you for your help! Reduce ... Reuse ... Recycle ... helping the earth and the St. Mark's Youth Group!
TEENS ... Join in the fun every Wednesday night beginning at 5:30 p.m. with dinner, then continuing with Fellowship, Service, Discussion, and Team-Building. Using the R.O.P.E. acronym, the teens have fun while: showing Respect, being Open to new ideas, Participating in the solutions not the problems, and Enriching each other's lives. The second Sunday of every month at the 10:30 a.m. service, you will find the teens ushering, serving communion, setting the altar, passing out bulletins and reading the lessons for the week. Check it out!

COLLEGE STUDENTS AND YOUNG ADULTS Wherever life takes you, we would like to stay in touch with you. Please call the church office so we can update your file with your new address, phone number and/or new e-mail address. Letters from home can ease a weary soul, and we would like to remain part of your life even if you are many miles away. If you are staying in town, let us know that, too, so that we can get together and check in with one another as time permits. Long time friendships are precious and we would enjoy seeing all of you. PARENTS: Help us out with this! It's always nice to have updated information about our young adults. They are very busy and sometimes forget to keep us posted, so we need your help. Thanks!
